THE COURIER JOURNAL - "KENTUCKY SINGER WINS AT 57TH GRAMMY AWARDS"

Sunday, a Kentucky Center Governor's School of the Arts alumnus won a Grammy in the Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella category. Kevin Olusola and his group, Pentatonix, won for a medley titled "Daft Punk."

The award was presented during the 57th Annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, before the live broadcast of the awards show on CBS.

The song, a medley of hit songs by pop duo Daft Punk, mashes up several of their tracks, including "One More Time," "Get Lucky" and "Digital Love," among several others.

Olusola attended Owensboro High School, graduated from Yale University with a degree in East Asian studies and attended the Kentucky Center Governor's School for the Arts in the summer of 2004.

As for the song that won Olusola's group the Grammy, it was recorded in a bedroom closet and the video was filmed in a kitchen.

In 2011, Pentatonix won the popular NBC a cappella reality competition show "The Sing-Off."
